Book signing at Kenilworth Book Shop

Saturday morning, 15th June.10am prompt.

I arrived at the book shop armed with posters and copies of the books.

It was a dull, overcast day, with rain both forecast and threatening to descend at any moment.

I was offered the option of setting up my stall outside.

Looking up at the sky, I decided that it might be more sensible to do things inside.

Judy, the bookshop owner, and I cleared the decks for action and set up.

The shop is full of goodies – not just books - and so it was a bit of a challenge to find temporary homes for the displaced merchandise.

But we did it.

By 10.30am, I was ready for the day’s activities.

I am pleased to report that there was a lot of interest in all of the books and the time flew by as I chatted to one then another customer.

But it turned out to have been a wise decision to set up indoors.

Just before midday, the heavens opened and thunder roared, and everything was shaken.

The rain was, for several moments, absolutely torrential. Some in the shop were better prepared for the inclement weather than others.

One little tot was particularly against the idea of venturing out while the rains cascaded down. But the pictures in the Moving Tales volume helped keep her calm until the storm passed.

Older browsers in the shop were very taken with the Sword saga and wanted to learn more about those stories.
